Day 30-Germany, Berlin

Today was a very long but great day :) We went to four museums (one was the Pergamon where they have the Pergamon altar from Greece, the Ishtar gates from Babylon, an impressive Roman facade, and part of an Islamic hunting lodge/small castle wall) at a grueling pace but it was completely worth it (I didn't listen to my feet, legs, and back). So much to experience in such a short amount of time!

After seeing some famous artifacts including the elegant Nefertiti bust from Egypt, a group of us decided to experience creating our own chocolate bars at Ritter Sport Bunte Schokowelt. It was so fun to choose what you wanted to include in your specialty bar (I choose almonds and some honey puff cereal). The only awkward part of the experience (remember I have at least one everyday) was when Pascal, the cashier, started speaking German to me and I just looked at him and nodded my head...it was great ;)

After chocolate, we decided to explore one of Berlin's malls where we found some amazing spaghetti ice-cream. It was soo good, especially the strawberry syrup! Today was a sweets day, but it was so fun to experience Berlin's specialties :) The last thing to mention was randomly finding the dividing line between east and west Germany marked by some bricks. I mentally checked off "being in two places at once" from my bucket list as I straddled the border. It was pretty awesome. And that's what Germany is...pretty darn awesome. Tschuss!

  1. I don't know a thing about art and artifacts, but I do know all your food experiences make me hungry :) It looks a little chilly in Berlin?
