Day 24-Greece, Kalambaka

As much as I love the bus and the amount of land I've been able to experience, I'm really glad we only have one more day before we reach our final destination ;) I've taken my time reading (and finishing) Ender's Game and have spent countless hours staring out my window seat, daydreaming and listening to music but I think I'm ready to switch it up a bit.

The only thing I don't want to change is the incredible scenery I've seen every single day. Today was especially fantastic. I've never seen such amazing rock formations in my life, so steep and so visually astounding it reminded me of the fictional world Avatar created for its spectators. Oh, and I forgot to mention the monasteries that were somehow built on top of them that I visited! Talk about unbelievable. I have not the best picture of these formations on my iPod, but look forward to some amazing ones from my camera! At both the monasteries we visited (one was actually a convent) all of us girls were asked to wear these awesome wraparound, pattered skirts to keep modest. I felt so cool, especially since I was wearing my grey patterned top (you know, the one you see every other third day ;) ).

One of the first places we went to today were the ruins at Delphi (we had to hike a mountain to see all of them), which had another fantastic view. Ps. The two pictures with me in them were taken at Delphi. Bottom line: Greece has amazing scenery and views to die for!

Being the first of a new month and to wrap up, I thought it fitting to mention how accustomed I'm getting to European life: crazy traffic, multiple languages, noisy nights, cornflakes with lukewarm milk, unpredictable bathrooms, close-knit people greeting each other with a kiss...and the list goes on and on. One thing's for sure. I wouldn't change any of the experiences I've had. Yassou!
